Join us this Saturday night for our Gypsy Jazz Valentine’s Day Party featuring live music from 10:00pm with the “No Name Trio”.
The dynamic guitar duo of New Yorker Dan Brustman and Frenchman Nico Torrese, together with Chinese accordionist Wang Yi (Zoe), play fast-fingered gypsy jazz incorporating Manouche and American jazz standards. Their repertoire features music popularised by many famous artists ranging from Django Reijnhart to Yann Tiersen. The talented trio has a great reputation in the Beijing music scene for their skilled playing and vibrant execution, always putting a smile on your face and a spring in your step.
Chocho Maldito (a.k.a. Checo Fernandez) plays his own compositions as well as interesting interpretations and reworkings of established classics.
Chocho Maldito was born out of a need… The name makes a playful reference to that compulsive pursuit of every generation – the exploration of the mind through the use of narcotics (legal or illegal), as well as the repression of feelings through the same means, the apathy that invades us, and the decadence of a civilization. Decadence is the central theme for Checo, the ill-fated founder and composer of the stories for Chocho Maldito.
What better way to understand decadence and demand social change than with dark chords, hypnotic rhythms (interrupted at times by harmonics), and cynical, sarcastic, sinister lyrics!

In March 2007, Michael Dallin asked Kris Liu to join him on stage for his final show in his home town of Salt Lake City, before moving to Phoenix to work on expanding his abilities as a musician and singer. While in Phoenix, Michael couldn’t get Kris’s rocking guitar riffs out of his head, so in August he booked yet another show in Salt Lake City and has been seen rocking next to Kris ever since. In October 2007 the duo was given the name “Bad Apples” by close friend singer/songwriter Ashlee K who had been responsible for introducing the duo three years prior.
Bad Apples brings you soulful rock tunes with storyteller lyrics and melodies that will ring in your ears – an eclectic combination of rock, reggae and blues that will keep you shaking until late in the evening.

With a Brazillian power-house on Guitar and vocals, an extraordinary Cuban guitarist, a well-known and respected Chinese drummer, and a groove-centred Bass player from the island Dominica, “Mama Funker” play Brazilian funk, Latin and English tunes, with a bit of Reggae, pop-rock thrown in for good measure.
Mama Funker…. the name chosen by the guitarist and singer of the band was at first rejected by the other band members. However, it soon became the name on so many lips, who would laugh at first, and then grow to love since it so perfectly embodied the band Mama Funker!!! In the words of one anonymous individual, Mama Funker “breaks down the place” and leave the crowd wanting more every time they perform. From time to time the band are joined by the undeniably soulful energetic and “crowd wooing” female vocalist by the name of Marrion Musgrove.
